Because it made me realize that love endures even in the darkest places.
East of Eden by John Steinbeck
The whole discussion of “timshel” really gets my gears turning.
Paper Bullets by Kip Fulbeck
When I was scared and confused, this book was my outlet.
Of Grammatology by Jacques Derrida
Because when you start talking deconstruction, the world changes a bit.
And, for what it’s worth, you can read Kip Fulbeck’s interview with me in his tattoo book Permanence. I discuss my religion a bit, as well as my super awesome tattoo. 
Great recommendations — I especially love East of Eden. And it’s pretty rare for a Christian to be recommending Derrida, so kudos to you for having an open mind!
